Nail extensions We now offer Acrylic, gel and fibreglass nail extensions.
Fibre glass
. These extensions are made of fibreglass cloth wrapped around a plastic gel mould.
. They are much thinner and lighter than acrylic extensions while offering the same durability and strength.
. Silk or linen may be used in place of fibreglass, although they are not as durable and look less natural.
Gel
. These extensions are made of coloured gel moulded to fit the nail tip
. They are curved onto the natural nail and hardened by exposing to ultra violet light
. They need to be filled every two weeks to accommodate nail growth.
. Gels are slightly better for your natural nail.
Acrylic
. These extensions are made by mixing acrylic powder and liquid onto a paste and brushing it over the nail
. They are the most durable type of nail extension but are difficult to apply and maintain.
. They offer a natural look and require infills every two to three weeks.
After care
. Wear gloves when gardening or doing the housework
. Dry hands thoroughly after washing.
. Use cuticle oil at every opportunity
. Do not use your extensions as tools or opening cans etc.
. Use an acetone free varnish remover
. Do not use products containing lanolin as it causes lifting.
